I'm grateful for these:
\n
| \n\n | \n \nLance Coreopsis\nLance Coreopsis \nYou need these orange/yellow beauties in your garden/yard next year. They are our heroes for the summer and fall seasons. Since recovering from major surgery, I didn’t have time to sow lots of annual flowers in the spring BUT was able to sow handfuls of these. And, they are serving all the pollinators with food and my soul with joy. \n | \n
| \n\n | \n Growing Celosia \nTheir colorful leaves remind me of the life flowing through my body - even when I feel sad and defeated. \n | \n
| \n\n | \n 1-on-1 Session: \nI'm slowly stepping back into leading therapeutic horticulture sessions with a 1-on-1 and it’s exactly what I needed to rev up my therapeutic teaching muscles. \n | \n
| \n\n | \n Chicken Cuddles: \nRosie is our sweetest chicken on the farm. I hope one day you can meet her in person. \n | \n
I am weeding these out:
\n
| \n\n | \n High Expectations: \nI had high hopes to fill two in-ground beds with native perennials this summer - they haven't seen my hands since fall. I’ve been feeling awful about neglecting them... until today. Progress, not perfection. It will be done soon. \n | \n
\n
| \n\n | \n Horse Nettle: \nIt’s an obnoxious weed here at the farm. Before weeding it (with thick gloves), I tapped into something angering me and processed it while yanking the horse nettle out (you have to pull out the whole plant). \nSide note: Weeds tell us what our soil is lacking so I am oddly thankful for this weed. \n | \n
| \n\n | \n Isolation: \nIt’s never good to be alone. So, I am currently writing this newsletter on the farm porch imagining you all here at the farm with me. Thank you for your community! \n | \n
\n | \n TH Activity: Self-Reflection\n1. In the name of gardening, visualize the things in your season that are serving you (A self-care routine? Family? A cup of coffee? Prayer?)...see them as a full field of beautiful flowers. \n2. Now, visualize the things in your life not serving you (Worry? Negative thoughts?)… see them as weeds trying to outgrow those flowers. \n3. Let's acknowledge the weeds and then clear them away. Do you feel lighter? More nourished? \n | \n
